The Junkers J.1 was a WW1 German low-level ground attack and surveillance Aircraft.
The first German all-metal aircraft entered into service with a light bulletproof bathtub protecting the engine and 2 crew being very effective against ground fire
Entered service in August 1917 on the western front and saw combat in the Ludendorff offensive of 1918 with a production run of 227 by January 1919 (due to poor and slow organizational matters). Only 1 claim of being shot down by French AA fire, all other accidents were human error.
