HMAS Australia II
HMAS Australia II was a County- class heavy cruiser of the RAN.
entered service in 1928 operating in the Mediterranean and south pacific before WW2 broke out. remaining in pacific waters became the flagship of Task Force 44 (Allied naval support and amphibious landings throughout the pacific theatre).
Australia received damage from aircraft kamikaze attacks during the Invasion of Lingayen Gulf and was forced to get repaired in England where she remained till the end of the war.
Occupying Japan during the late 40s was scrapped eventually in 1955
